Congratulations to our many award-winning newsrooms on their wins!
At the recent Digital Publishing Awards, Press Forward members took home seven awards, including:
- Pivot for Best Editorial Package, Small Publication
- The Green Line for Best Editorial Newsletter
- The Local for General Excellence in Digital Publishing (Small Publication), Best News Coverage (Community Publication), and Best Feature Article: Long
- The Narwhal in collaboration with The Winnipeg Free Press for Best Photo Storytelling.
Members like La Converse, Peterborough Currents, The Tyee, Ricochet, and the Investigative Journalism Foundation were also awarded several honorable mentions.

The DPAs were not the only event where the editorial excellence of our member news publications was recognized. At the Canadian Association of Journalists awards presentation in Calgary, our members took home six awards for everything from a three-newsroom collaboration to smart explainers to FOI reporting.

And last but not least, at the Canadian Journalism Foundation awards night, The Narwhal and the Investigative Journalism Foundation received nominations while The Local took home the coveted silver bowl for the CJF Dr. Eric Jackman Award for Excellence in Journalism (Small Media).
The Local is one of many publications, said Executive Editor Nick Hune-Brown, “that are trying to do journalism in a new way.”
